The car ac hose is used in car air conditioning system. s obvious from the name ac hose is the part of the circuit which passes the refrigerant from one part to the ther point to another point.....it may be under the hood of a car or bus or it maybe out in the open connecting the compressor to the indoor unit of a bulidings HVAC system.

As compared to other rubber hose, A/C hose is unique designed to effectively transfer both liquid and gas regardless whether they are hot or cold. The higher flexibility means that this hose will need to have lower bend radius , this is achieved by various means. Most of the AC hose available in the market is multilayered comprising of inner tube layer of PolyAmide or Chloroprene Elastomer , Polyester Fiber reinforcement and then EPDM outer Cover.

The Refrigirant gas expected to be conveyed in these hoses are R134 a ,R404a ,R1234yf and the industry standards to be followed for manufacture of these hoses is SAE J2064 and SAE J3062. 

The availablility of a variety of models in flexible Ac hose may confuse some customers, but it is essential that each requirement from the application is understood before installing the hose. If the automotive engine requirement is such that there are a lot of bends at many places after the hose is coupled under the hood a thick wall Ac hose will be used . However if the hose is connected straight between two points the thin wall AC hose can be suitable. The advent of the polyamide layer inside an AC hose meant that the number of layers of polyester fiber is reduced. The impermeability of the gas is dependent on the inner tube as well as the outer cover of the hose. The pressure of suction and discharge of the refrigeration system varies from car to car and also the compressor of the system. Thus differnet types of hose serve a special unique purpose, I recommend we consult with an engineer who designed the system before we change the type of AC hose in any system.

A C Hoses according to SAE J2064 standards :-

Typical for automotive are DN 8, 10, 13 and 16 mm with textile reinforcement in standard (thick wall) or LW (thinned wall) version.

Hoses in DN 22, 28 or 35 mm with steel braid are used in bigger systems (e.g. in buses and coaches).

Working pressure to 35 bar, working temperature from -40°C to +135°C. For industrial refrigeration systems special types of thermoplastic hoses (with polyamide internal layer) are used.
